Tesla held a big publicity event earlier in October to promote its autonomy technology. The main focus was on the two-seat Cybercab and art deco city bus Robovan, but another "feature" was Tesla's robot Optimus, which served drinks and danced. Well, according to this article on Jalopnik, the robot was totally fake, as it was remotely controlled by a human operator the whole time. Of course Optimus is actually a robot, but it certainly wasn't autonomous. Why am I not surprised that Elon Musk's publicity is filled with lies? |
